ACCREDATION
Program Overview
Traditionally, a PhD involves three to four years of full-time study in which the student completes a substantial piece of original research presented as a thesis or dissertation. Some PhD programs accept a portfolio of published papers, while some countries require coursework to be submitted as well.
Roadmap for PhD Education Degree Completion
- Research Proposal Development, 2 credit hours
- Academic Writing (workshop or short course), 0 credit hours
- Qualitative Data Analysis (workshop or short course), 0 credit hours
- Inferential Data Analysis (workshop or short course), 0 credit hours
- Use of Software & Research Tools (SPSS, NVIVO, AMOS, LISERAL)
Doctoral Dissertation (25 Credit Hours)
- Deficiency courses (if required)
- Compulsory Course Work: 20 credit hours
- Subject GRE International / Local
- Comprehensive Examination
- Research Work: 25 credit hours
- Extra course(s) as recommended by the Research Committee
- Mandatory research workshops (1 international, 2 national level)
- Conference & Seminar presentations (1 international, 2 national level)
- Research Proposal Approval
- Completion of a 24,000-word dissertation
- Publication in an HEC-approved journal (Category ‘Y’ & above)
- Research Defense
Deficiency Courses (If Required)
- Deficiency Courses for those without a degree in Education
- Deficiency Courses/Assignments for those without research experience in MPhil
- Deficiency Courses for those with a CGPA below 3.0
